People spend a great deal of their working lives behind a desk, and everyone has their own particular habits and needs. Some people build models and need lots of compartments and storage, others work on a computer and need a lower desk with room for a tower and two monitors. Some desks sit in the middle of a room, others are against a wall. Some require matching file cabinets and book shelves, while others stand by themselves. Creating something that will suit the working style of an individual, and helps them do what they do in the best possible way is a rewarding design challenge. As you can see, I frequently incorporate shelves into my desks. These offer a place for display, secondary storage, and a convenient place to hide built-in lighting.
