help - album images

As of RC16, calliope supports album images! There are two ways to attach images to albums. The first, and easiest, is to have album images (of type jpg, gif, or png) in the actual album directories. Album images will be automagically detected when you load calliope, and should be linked into the album page. NOTE that if you've already loaded calliope, you'll unfortunately need to re-load your database. The next release or two should improve this situation with a "calliope load -refresh" or some such, but for now, that's the deal.

There are some settings in the conf that affect how albums are linked into the web heirarchy, and you should review the conf file before you actually run load.

Secondly, you can upload images via the web interface while looking at at an album in editing mode. Again, it's important to note that there are settings in the conf file that affect how many images one can upload at a time, and how big those image files can be. Right now, if an image size exceeds the upload size, the file is simply truncated without warning. AllowUpload must be turned on in the conf file for this feature to work. See edit help for more details, but editing mode allows you to edit information about songs, artists, albums, artist types, as well as associations between these things. Editing is a "context mode," that is, rather than a long menu of editing options, you turn on editing, and you can then directly edit information that appears on the screen.

Also, the web interface relies on some interesting javascript to provide a dynamic interface - it's been tested on the latest versions of firefox, safari, and IE, but your mileage may vary. Please send some feedback if you have any problems.
