When downloading is turned on, you'll see this icon appear next to songs in a variety of contexts -- in an album listing, on lists, in a search, etc. Clicking on the icon will allow you to download that file.

Work is afoot to allow the downloading of whole albums and play lists as well, so stay tuned!

Downloading can be turned on / off for a given class of users, and calliope can also be used to facilitate the storing, tracking and downloading of many people's digital music. If the music is divided into user folders prior to loading the database, and configuration is set up properly, calliope will keep track of who owns which music files, and can restrict downloading to the owner of a given file.

Calliope is intended as a music management system, not a file sharing program - file sharing has been deemed illegal by the powers that be, and you should not use it for that purpose. You are solely responsible for how you choose to set up and use this software.
