From the journal -- "Last night lying on the roof of a Dogon home, the lighting flickered over the falaise, and the stars were too infinite to count. Here is Africa. One feels almost timeless here, where things stopped millennia ago. And only the waves of the Sahara, gently lapping across the Sahel, mark the passage of time. It is impossible not to feel a voyeur here, standing in the midst of an ancient people, busy living their lives."
