This fall, I wandered off to the San Francisco to check it out for a couple of months, and though I decided not to stay, this is the journey. Along the way I wandered through the Southwestern United States with my faithful companion, Finnegan; we passed through hill and dale, mountain and desert, and saw an awful lot of national parks, monuments, forests and the like.
